Workshop 5 : 

WAY FORWARD TO MANGROVE CONSERVATION IN KLANG ISLANDS THROUGH COLLABORATIVE MANAGEMENT

The workshop was conducted in Capri by Fraser, KL and was attended by 17 key representatives from various government agencies and non-government organisations (as shown above in the list of stakeholders).

Workshop Objectives:

​

  1. To showcase NetComFish research findings regarding collaborative mangrove management in Klang Islands to local stakeholders.

  2. To collect feedback and comments on policy brief draft that will be distributed to policy makers at district and state levels including the state assembly man.

  3. To reach a consensus among stakeholders regarding the vision of mangrove conservation in Klang Islands through the approach of collaborative management including all relevant bodies.

The workshop was designed to mainly focus on participants' vision of mangroves in the Klang Islands. Below are the list of participants representing stakeholders from governmental agencies, non-governmental agency and also the fishing community.
