For this time, the Malaysian researchers and research assistant went to the UK to receive training and join workshop that were prepared by the UK researchers. There were four different workshops and one field trip located in Plymouth Marine Laboratory and North Devon. The team also conducted few discussions and meetings for the way forward and future possibilities for this project.
Workshop on “Training: Qualitative Data Analysis using NVIVO”
Date : 3 July 2018, Morning
Venue : Plymouth Marine Laboratory, Plymouth
Chairpersons : Andrew Edwards-Jones
Description : The workshop was conducted for the training on qualitative data analysis using NVIVO 12. The participants were taught on getting started with NVIVO, how to import sources, how to create cases and classifications, conducting coding, queries and text analyses.

Workshop on “Effective questionnaire development”
Date : 3 July 2018, Afternoon
Venue : Plymouth Marine Laboratory, Plymouth
Chairpersons : Caroline Hattam
Description : The workshop was conducted for the training on effective questionnaire development. The participants were given general tips for good questionnaire development, how to design a valuation questionnaire and how to design a questionnaire to focus on behavioural change.

Fieldtrip – Site Visit to North Devon Biosphere
Date : 4 July 2018
Venue : North Devon Biosphere
Chairpersons : Andy Bell
Description : The fieldtrip was conducted in North Devon Biosphere where Andy Bell is working as the Biosphere Reserve Coordinator. The participants were given briefing on the introduction of the biosphere reserve, habitat restoration efforts, combining fishing with tourism and also initial discussion of future proposal ideas.


Workshop on “Development of communication and education materials”
Date : 3 July 2018, Morning
Venue : Plymouth Marine Laboratory, Plymouth

Description : The workshop was conducted for the training on what makes good outreach materials. The participants were explained on defining programme/objectives/materials needed for education and preparation of draft education materials.

Workshop on “Multicriteria analysis through example”
Date : 3 July 2018, Afternoon
Venue : Plymouth Marine Laboratory, Plymouth

Description : The workshop was conducted for the training on Multicriteria Analysis (MCA). Caroline gave an overview of multicriteria analysis and Nicola briefed on her previous research that applied the MCA approach.
